Main Duties:

The full-time Account Executive positions are largely commission-based, with the most generous commission rates in the industry. The Position
Bioneers is seeking an experienced executive director (ED) who will bring leadership to an organization providing public education, skillful communications, media and network connectivity to diverse constituents oriented to translating solutions into action. The ED must be deeply knowledgeable and passionate about environmental, justice and progressive political issues as well as social transformation. The ED must have extensive connections in the social landscape of these fields.
The ED must have proven success and expertise in fundraising, communications, media and executive non-profit management, and must be a person who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced and innovative environment of social entrepreneurialism.
The successful candidate will exhibit a high level of integrity, honesty and respect both inside and outside the organization, and will have a sense of humor and joy in the work.
The ED will work closely with the Co-CEOs/Founders and Vice-President for Advancement to lead this dynamic organization with vision, passion and commitment to increase its influence, impact, visibility and sustainability. The ED will report to the Co-CEOs, and interact with the Board. Must be a strong team player, as well as a strong individual leader.
The ED will have three primary areas of focus and expertise:
- Fundraising: A proven fundraiser with substantial experience with individual high donors as well as foundations. Must be charismatic, highly articulate and literate, able to write effective grant proposals, reports and letters. Dynamic networker.
- Mission Delivery: The candidate we seek will live and breathe the mission, requiring a minimal learning curve in the political and cultural landscape in which Bioneers operates. Must be a close fit with the basic progressive values reflected in Bioneers. A top-notch communicator, both verbal and written, and effective public speaker who has solid experience with the press, media and, if possible, marketing. Must be entrepreneurial, flexible, innovative and highly competent in advancing new, early stage and ongoing partnerships and collaborations. Must be fluent and comfortable with a very diverse and expansive range of stakeholders. A person with a background in political engagement, possibly including campaigns, is optimal.
- Supervising Senior Management: Supervise senior staff, operations and administration. Strong procedural and analytic skills and budget oversight. A people person with strong relational talents who will inspire and galvanize staff with the vision and mission.
An estimated 2/3 of the job is externally facing on fundraising and mission delivery, and about 1/3 internally facing toward sustaining the internal organizational needs.
The ED will possess a minimum of ten years of strong professional and managerial non-profit, or comparable executive management experience. He or she will have experience working successfully with Boards, including in developing board fundraising capacity.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary is comparable to other non-profit organizations of similar size and commensurate with experience. This is a full-time position based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The ED will travel 6-8 times a year, or as needed. Bioneers offers competitive health and vacation benefits.
