Local Green Sierra is a resource for all things green and sustainable in the Northern Sierra. There is a green directory to help you locate the businesses that are practicing environmental stewardship in their daily activities or consultants whom can help your business or home to become more earth friendly. There is no certification necessary and the businesses aren’t thoroughly screened but are tried and trusted. If you would like to get listed contact lori@localgreensierra.com.
Our mission is to make a difference in the world and help others do the same by offering tools that can help them make that difference and be proactive in changing our environment for the better. We offer resources for all things green and sustainable in our community and through the Green Business Directory a way to put your money where your values are.
The Green Business Directory features businesses that are making a step in the right direction, they might not be perfect, but they are making an effort. The business that have been certified by the Keep the Sierra Green organization will have a symbol after their listing, this means that they have been checked out and have passed the stringent guidelines. If you are interested in becoming certified go to www.keepthesierragreen.org.
We want the public to know what businesses are doing to go the extra mile to be sustainable and support them in their efforts. These are things that they do because they care about the planet and not just their profit and they aren’t usually advertised, these people deserve our patronage!
